You can create, update and lock views.

Create a View

You can create a view based on a scene displayed in the viewport.

Before you begin: In the viewport, prepare the scene to be captured.
  1. Click Workshops > Publishing > Views > .
  2. In the Views workshop, under Select items to capture, select the actors and properties to capture, and then click Create.
  3. In the Views pane, optionally rename the view:
    1. Right-click the view and click Rename View.
    2. Type a new name.

Tip: You can also create views from the Views pane:
  • Create View creates a normal view.
  • Create Camera View creates a custom view that captures only camera position.

Update a View

You can update an existing view.

Note: Updating a custom view adds the selected items to the view definition. For example, when you update with Viewport selected a custom view that captures only camera position, the view definition now includes both Camera and Viewport.

  1. In the Views pane, select one or several views to update.
  2. In the viewport, prepare your scene to be captured and optionally select actors whose properties you are propagating.
  3. Click Workshops > Publishing > Views > .
  4. In the Views workshop, under Select items to capture, select the actors and properties to capture, and then click Update .

Tip: You can also update views from the Views pane:
  • To update all properties captured by a view, use Update View .
  • To update views with the visibility and properties of the actors selected in the viewport, use Update Views with Selected Actors .
Note: Only the properties of visible objects are stored in views.

Lock a View

You can lock a view, to avoid updating it by mistake for example. Once a view is locked, you can unlock it if needed.

  1. In the Views pane, select the view to lock.

    Note: You can also select several views.

  2. Right-click the view and click Lock Views.
    A lock symbol appears on the view thumbnail, indicating that the view is locked. You can no longer update it.
  3. To unlock the view, select and right-click it, and click Unlock Views.
    You can now update it if needed.
